About MSP Check
MSP Check is a free, independent tool that helps Medicare beneficiaries discover whether they qualify for the Medicare Savings Program (MSP) — a federal program that can eliminate premiums, deductibles, and copays worth up to $6,368 per year.
Why we built this
Millions of eligible seniors never enroll in MSP simply because they don't know it exists or find the application process confusing. Our 5-step wizard takes about 90 seconds, requires no account, and gives you a personalized result based on your state's current income and asset limits.
How it works
- You answer 5 questions about your state, household size, income, and assets.
- We apply the same SSA income disregard rules your state Medicaid agency uses, including the $20 general disregard, the $65 earned-income disregard, and the 50% remainder rule.
- Your result tells you which tier (QMB, SLMB, or QI) you likely qualify for, what it covers, and links directly to your state's application.
All eligibility rules are sourced from CMS and updated annually. See Learn for detailed program descriptions.
Independence & funding
MSP Check is not affiliated with Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, or any government agency. We don't sell insurance, receive referral fees, or require an account. The tool is free to use and always will be.
Data accuracy
Income and asset limits are sourced from CMS and updated each January. Results are estimates — your actual eligibility is determined by your state's Medicaid agency. If you're close to a limit, we recommend applying regardless: your state will make the final determination at no cost to you.
