Medicare Savings Programs
The Medicare Savings Program (MSP) is a state-administered federal program that helps people with limited income and resources pay for Medicare costs. There are three benefit tiers.
QMBQualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB)
The most comprehensive tier. Covers Part B premium, Part A premium, all deductibles, coinsurance, and copays. QMB also auto-qualifies you for Extra Help with prescription costs.

SLMBSpecified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary (SLMB)
Covers your Medicare Part B premium ($202.90/month in 2026). Works with both Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans.

QIQualifying Individual (QI)
Covers the Part B premium. This program has a limited annual budget — slots reset every January 1, so apply early in the year.
